Ghadeer Khumm was the day that defined Islam. After all, the idea of a successor is fundamental, and Allah made sure that at Ghadeer, the Divine choice is revealed once and for all. If we seek incompetent people for our religion after the Prophet, then Islam will not survive for long. It is only through the Qur’an, Imam Ali, and the infallible Imams from his lineage that we can continue to follow the path of Allah after the Prophet.

Eid Al Adhaa – 10th Dhul Hijjah

This festival is also known as Eid al-Adh-ha meaning ‘the festival of sacrifice’. Day of Arafa’h- 9th Zilhajj – Duas and Aamaal

The ninth day of Dhul Hijjah is the day of ‘Arafah. It is the day when Hajj pilgrims stand on the plain of ‘Arafat’ (a flat wide desert about 22 km south east of Makkah Mukarramah) to pray.
‘Arafat literally means knowledge and science.

Shahadat Anniversary of Imam Muhammad Baqir (AS) 7th Dhul Hijjah

Imam Muhammad Baqir(a.s.), lived in this world for a period of 57 years, and in the 114th year of the Hijra, on the seventh day of the month of Zil-Hijjah, in Medina he left this world. His body was buried in Baqi cemetry alongside the graves of Imam Hasan(a.s.) and Imam Sajjad(a.s) in Medina.

Shahadat Anniversary of Imam Muhammad Taqi (AS) 29th Dhul Qa’dah

Imam Muhammad Taqi (A) was born when his father was 45 years old. Till then Imam Ali ar-Ridha (A) had constantly been taunted that he had no children. When the 9th Imam was born, a brother of Imam Ali Ridha (A) was angry because he would lose out in inheriting the Imam’s property and in his jealousy spread a rumour that Imam Ali Ridha (A) was not the father. He was eventually proved wrong by a person who could tell parentage.

Duas & A’amal for first 10 days of Dhul-Hijjah

In the blessed month of Dhu’l-Hijjah, the pious companions of the Holy Prophet and their followers used to do many acts of worship. The first ten days of this month are called “The Stated Days” by the Holy Qur’an.
