Shahadat Anniversary of Imam Jaffer Sadiq (as) 25th Shawwaal

During the Imamate of the sixth Imam greater possibilities and a more favourable climate existed for him to propagate religious teachings. This came about as a result of revolts in Islamic lands, especially the uprising of the Muswaddah to overthrow the Umayyad caliphate, and the bloody wars which finally led to the fall and extinction of the Umayyads. The greater opportunities for Shi’ite teachings were also a result of the favourable ground the fifth Imam had prepared during the twenty years of his Imamate through the propagation of the true teachings of Islam and the sciences of the Household of the Prophet (sawas).

Welcoming Eid-al-Fitr

Remember in Islam, the Day of Eid is one of the best days of worship & Ibad’at of Allah swt and not merry making. This sentence should be imprinted in the hearts and minds of our children and youths. Ibad’at should be performed according to its religious rules and regulations and not as we think fit or for our own pleasure or as others do.

Ramadhan 1438 AH – Fitra Rulings

Payment of Zakat al-Fitrah becomes obligatory after sunset on the eve of Eid al-Fitr. The Fitrah should be kept aside and paid on Eid al-Fitr before Eid prayers or before midday for those who cannot say their Eid prayers. It is necessary to have the obligatory intention (Niyyah) for giving Fitrah for God’s pleasure only.

The guidelines are based on the fatawa of our Marja-e-Taqleed Ayatullah Sayed Ali al- Hussaini al-Sistani r.a.
